FAQs

What Is Outr?

Outr is a grassroots community app built to help people discover things to do, and people to do it with. Our motto is discover on here, connect out there.

What kind of events do you list?

Everything from small gigs, creative workshops, wellness events, talks, run clubs, pop-ups, workshops, screenings, supper clubs and community hangouts.

We platform grassroots community events and for us, that means events organised by collectives, community organisations, and individuals with a desire to connect people.
If it brings people together and has a strong community angle, it belongs on Outr.

What kind of events do you not list?

We don't list large club nights (Resident Advisor has that covered). We don't list professional networking events (try LinkedIn). And we’'re not big fans of dating events (there are already apps for that).

How do I Ticket on the App?

There are two ways you can ticket on Outr:

Option one:

  1. You can list your events directly on Outr. It's free to list an event. There's access to ticket analytics, a QR ticket scanner to check-in attendees, guest list management, unique browser URLs for each listing for non-app users, co-host add-ons, and much more!

  2. You can promote existing events ticketed on third-party sites using Outr Promote (£11.99 per month). Simply paste your ticket URL and submit your event.

How is it free to ticket on the app?

Running community events is hard work, and the world needs more of them.

We’re focused on re-popularising third spaces and encouraging community participation, so we've opted to keep it free for organisers to ticket on the app. Instead, we charge a small booking and service fee per ticket (6% + £0.49 processing, min £1.00)  to attendees.

If your event is free, no fees are charged.

How will people who don't have the app be able to buy tickets to my event?
Every event on Outr has a shareable web link. So even if someone doesn't have the app, they can still open the event, see all the details, and buy tickets directly through their browser.

What if my event is rejected?

At Outr we focus on community-centred events. As per our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to reject events if we feel they breach our community guidelines. On occasion, we may give you the opportunity to edit and re-submit your event if we believe a small update will help it better align with the Outr community and platform standards.

What is Connections?

Connections is Outr's social feature.

We’re not just a ticketing app. We want people to feel tapped into their neighbourhood, which means connecting with their neighbours!

Connections matches you with people in your local area that we think you’ll get along with. You can meet people on the app and attend events together or share events with other users that you think they’ll like!

In a world where tech can connect us to almost anything, it should at least be able to connect us to each other.

Why is the onboarding for Connections
so long?

We know, there are a lot of questions. But we're trying to build better connections, not faster, low quality ones.

We're not a dating app, so we don't simply suggest you users based on physical attraction. The onboarding helps us understand your personality, interests, and social energy so we can make stronger recommendations. We also utilise your event interests, your favourite song (Spotify), film (IMDb) and book (Google Books) — because common interests matter!

Can I use the app without joining Connections?

Yes. Connections is optional. You can still use Outr to discover events, save listings and book tickets without turning on Connections.

What is Outr+?

Outr+ is our premium membership. It unlocks extra features, perks, and deeper access across the app, such as discounted events, no booking or service fees and more daily matches on Connections. As Outr grows, Outr+ members will get access to additional tools, exclusives, and community benefits.

I have some suggestions to improve the app. How can I share them?

We actually love this stuff. You can send feedback through the app or message us directly on our socials. A lot of Outr is shaped by community feedback, so if there's something you want to see, tell us.
